Annie's Sketch
A short animation about the miracles of everyday life
Storyboard:

Setting:

This is the layout of Annie’s bedroom in which the story occurs. Most of the action happens on the right-hand side of the room, with moving objects making their way from the table to the easel.
The sketches on the walls of the room and the easel show the viewer that Annie has the habit of drawing.
A calender on the desk with a date circled in red hints that there is an important date involved in the story.
Characters:

Annie:
The protagonist of the animation is a high school girl who likes to draw. A heavy workload from school has taken a toll on her physical health, hence she often wears a tired expression and walks in a flaccid manner with her back leaning forward.

Annie in motion:

The mannequin in the animation is given the personality of a leader and a pioneer. His actions are designed to show leadership; he is the first of all objects to awaken from a motionless state, and by nodding to his fellow objects he prompts the beginning of their operation.
Mannequin:

Tissue:
Tissue paper serve as the basic working units of the animation setting. Acknowledging their physical characteristics, I assigned them with tasks not requiring much force, such as preparing a fresh piece of paper and sketching the outline of Annie’s birthday surprise.
Lamp:
Unlike the mannequin and sheets of tissue, the lamp is incapable of moving very flexibly or swiftly. Hence it is assigned a minor role in the animation, specifically acting as a vertical playform for other objects to stand on while working on Annie’s birthday sketch.

Charger:
Annie’s phone charger is another minor character in the animation, it’s primary function being to sharpen a pencil in preparation for the sketch. The inspiration for this action came from a video of a python strangling a mouse.
